这本书第一章让我有种王熙凤人未到声先到的感觉。虽然说Gatsby是主人公，可是在第一章出现的时间的确很短，描写的篇幅也真的很少。并且都是间接的从别人的口中和视角来进行引入的。不知道的人还以为盖茨比就是个配角呢。

所以当我读到第一章的最后，“我”终于见到了那个伟大的盖茨比的时候，我自己都很激动。同时，文章的描写让我突然间莫名地想到了呼啸山庄里的西斯克里夫。

可以看看下面的描写，本尊终于出场，而且出场的画面如此的神秘，让人浮想联翩，他到底那个时候是什么心情，为什么要在那里，在那里做什么，为什么要颤抖，为什么就莫名的不见了。----像极了西斯克里夫那种神秘感。哈哈

The silhouette of a moving cat wavered across the moonlight and turning my head to watch it I saw that I was not alone—fifty feet away a figure had emerged from the shadow of my neighbor’s mansion and was standing with his hands in his pockets regarding the silver pepper of the stars. Something in his leisurely movements and the secure position of his feet upon the lawn suggested that it was Mr. Gatsby himself, come out to determine what share was his of our local heavens.

he was content to be alone—he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and far as I was from him I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntarily I glanced seaward—and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock. When I looked once more for Gatsby he had vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness.
