Questions for Chapter5

1. What does Alice find confusing? 

Alice finds it confusing for her to identify who she is at the present time.

Hearing what the pigeon said, she also felt very puzzled.

How puzzling all these changes are! I'm never sure what I'm going to be, from one minute to another! 

2. Was Alice too truthful when she told the bird that she liked eggs?

Yes she was and this would definitely made the pigeon doubted her more.

3. Why did she eat more mushroom before she went up to the house?

"I should frighten them out of their wits" Alice was afraid that she would scared those who lived in the house.

1. What did the Frog give to the Fish? 

2. Why couldn’t Alice get into the house? 

Because the Frog-footman was also outside the house and there was a big noise inside the house and those who were in the house couldn't hear their knock.

3. What was the Duchess holding? 

the Duchess was sitting on a three-legged stool in the middle, nursing a baby;

4. What was the cook doing? 

the cook was leaning over the fire, stirring a large cauldron which seemed to be full of soup.

5. What was strange about the cat? 

a large cat which was sitting on the hearth and grinning from ear to ear.

6. Why did the Duchess leave? 

I must go and get ready to play croquet with the Queen,' and she hurried out of the room. 

7. What did Alice do with the baby? 

As soon as she had made out the proper way of nursing it, (which was to twist it up into a sort of knot, and then keep tight hold of its right ear and left foot, so as to prevent its undoing itself,) she carried it out into the open air.

she set the little creature down, and felt quite relieved to see it trot away quietly into the wood. 

8. Where did Alice decide to go at the end of the chapter?

she walked on in the direction in which the March Hare was said to live. 'I've seen hatters before,' she said to herself; 'the March Hare will be much the most interesting, and perhaps as this is May it won't be raving mad - at least not so mad as it was in March.'
