hope chest: 嫁妆柜
a chest containing household linen and clothing stored by a woman in preparation for her marriage. The term is used in the midwest or south of the United States. In the United Kingdom, the term is “bottom drawer”. In Australia, is “glory box”.
Hope chests are an ancient tradition to prepare a girl for her future as a wife. The contents of a traditional hope chest included handicraft linen, bed-covers, blankets, towels, essential items like oil lamps, dishes, and candlesticks, and even dresses for special occasions. Their conventional structure is a wooden box with a hinged lid, some models also had drawers to maximise their storing capacity.
The hope chest reached the Americas with the large-scale emigration of Europeans from kingdoms such as Great Britain, Scandinavia, and Germany, beginning in the 18th century. This journey across the oceans was long and tedious, and many families packed all their belongings in a single wooden chest. By the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th, hope chests had become a common tradition among low and middle-class girls too in the United States. Most of the production of hope chests was entered around the region of New England.
The tradition of hope chests began to decline in the US after the World War I.

Rosarium Virginis Mariae。

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Ten “Hail Marys: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.
The Litany of the Virgin:
Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Marian Litany originally approved in 1587 by Pope Sixtus V. The litany contains many of the titles used formally and informally for the Virgin Mary, and would often be recited as a call and response chant in a group setting. This litany is called Litaniae laureate in Latin.
According to Directory on Popular Piety: Litanies are to be found among the prayers to be Blessed Virgin recommended by the Magisterium. These consist in a long series of invocations of Our lady, which follow in a uniform rhythm, thereby creating a stream of prayer characterised by instant praise and supplication.
