Last Saturday morning, suddenly  the  story of Cinderella from Household Tales came to my mind,then I understood why the book was named Chinese Cinderella.Character relationships as follows:

Stepbrother/sister, they differed   by one year or so in turn.I was called fifth younger sister(wu mei) at home.

Why  wrote this story?"I hope intrigue you not only with the plight of a little girl growing uo in China,but also interest you with her story and culture".

The story started in autumn,1941.I got a medal topping in class.Aunt Baba was very excited and she placed my certificate at the bottom of her closet.As she closed the lid,an old photograph fell out.This faded picture of YeYe and NaiNai caused my want of a picture of my dead mother.My mother died when I was two weeks old.She came down with a high fever after my birth.My big sister and three brother blamed me for causing mother's death and never forgave me.

Father remarried after mother's death.Our stepmother was half French and half China.One year after their weddding,they had a son followed by a daughter.All of them lived with YeYe and NaiNai and Aunt BaBa in a big house in Tianjin.

My  existence in this family was denied.Finally the medal drew the attention of others  in the family.This made me believe that "I should study harder and keep wearing this medal,so  I can go  on pleasing my father."
