Big Sister's Wedding 

The year of 1948 Big Sister was 17 and  married to a man 32.Big Sister's wedding let me think a lot."I don't want to be taken out of school to marry someone I've just met.Especially when he is so much older"."Is this going to happening to me?"

One thing happend during the wedding.Big Sister was given a lovely pendant made of antique imperial green jade hanging from a heally gold chain.Big sister begged Aunt Baba and me not to mention this gift.She intended to keep the pendant without telling Niang.Unfortunately Niang found out everything.I told Big Sister that Niang has known all the things. Then I knew that Big Sister told Niang Aunt Baba advised her not to reveal to Niang the gift.

A Birthday Party

Wu Chun-mei invited me to her house,but I kept making all sorts excuses while I was simply dying to go.Then one Tuesday we would stay home because of the name day of our New Mother Superior.So I decided to go to Wu's house.

At noon 12 o'clock,I resisted to go back home,in order to not let Niang knew the thing.But she finally knew the thing and asked me where my silver coin was from.I didn't betaryed my aunt.So l  lied.Niang slapped me and asked me stay at home until father came home.Father whipped me and told me that I and aunt had to be separated.
