Narnia 6 - Chap 4
What is Digory tempted to do in Chap. 4? Why does he do it? Does it seem like magic forced him to do it? Are there reasons why he should (or shouldn’t) have done what he did?
Digory wanted to simply have a look around the ruin city. And at a big room, he was also temped to strike the bell.
He would like to know what happen if he struck the bell. If he didn’t do it, he might always be wondering what would have happened. The thought drove him mad and it really evoked his curiosity.
I think the magic forced him to do it. Because of the room was full of magic, and he was too wild with curiosity to think about that.
Digory shouldn’t strike the bell as it mentioned that “And both thought it was; but they had never been more mistaken in their lives. ” I think bad things would happen after the unbearably loud sound from the bell.
